Maggie Macgill
Pilates found me on a magical day in 1999 when I was invited to apprentice in a Pilates studio with Abbi White. I have taught Pilates ever since and now twenty-four incredibly happy years of international teaching experience. I am a proud graduate of the Master’s Program at The Pilates Centre in Boulder, Colorado, hold a degree in research methods, am a Master Chi Running® instructor and qualified life coach.
I have enjoyed a dynamic career working in athlete training facilities, sports medicine clinics and studios across Australia and North America. My clients have included those with complex injury and chronic pain, a diverse range of professional sportspeople, paralympians and Olympic gold medallists.
My teaching is strongly influenced by my commitment to translating the Pilates method into athletic contexts, in particular running. This is reflected in my curriculum for movement education, which I deliver to Health Care Practitioners, runners and Pilates teachers internationally.
I thrive on my continuous growth as a practitioner which I maintain through my ongoing mentorship with The Pilates Centre in Boulder and somatic studies in Body Mind Cantering® with Alice Cummins.
I have practised Pilates every day since I began teaching 1999. I love the way it gives me the ability to tackle challenging hikes in remote wilderness areas and run in a way that feels amazing to my body. In my leisure time I also enjoy music, meditation, dancing and friendship.
"The magic five!
Presence, persistence, patience, trust and curiosity.
Maggie believes theses 5 things are the key to transforming your body and mind through Pilates."
