Kimi Broadbent

Hi! My name is Kimi and I’ve been teaching as a mat, reformer but primarily comprehensive studio Pilates teacher for 15 years in Melbourne. I started my fitness career as a group fitness instructor and Personal Trainer before I soon discovered the intelligent nature of the Pilates repertoire and I knew I had to know all about it!

I completed my diploma of Pilates instruction through Polestar Pilates in 2009 and went on to become a mentor and educator for the Melbourne courses for 10 years. In this time, I had the privilege of working closely with physiotherapists, sports medicine doctors, women’s health physios and other allied health practitioners which gave me a sound understanding of biomechanical retraining and using Pilates as movement therapy.

I owned my own successful physical studio The Pilates Vibe for 5 years before converting the business solely online to make more time for family, after which I birthed my baby girl Arika.

Today, I teach the mat, reformer and studio course for Body Organics in Melbourne under The Pilates Vibe. I am a L2 Principle Trainer with Pilates Association Australia which is the highest level of membership attainable, and have presented at the bi-annual PAA national conference on Pilates and Pregnancy.

I currently teach primarily from Seaview Health Group in Beaumaris and am so passionate about helping people understand their body. I think my superpower is being able to educate clients on WHY certain movements will help them, and HOW to take control of their own movement health. I love to educate…but it doesn’t mean I’m going to go easy on my clients (insert evil smile here).

In my non-existent spare time as a mum to a toddler and a dopey Labrador/ goldie puppy, I love being outdoors playing at the park, camping or heading to the beach!

“Kimi believes the key to transforming your body and mind through Pilates is to apply what you’ve learnt on the mat into your everyday life.

Practice adding in little bits of conscious movement one step at a time. It all adds up!”
