Jodie Tapper

Hello, I’m Jodie, founder of Soul Flexible, a thriving local Pilates studio and now a growing Pilates App with a team of dedicated teachers across Australia. My journey into Plates teaching began at the Pilates Fitness Institute in Perth, where I taught for nearly four years before opening my own studio, Vital Wellness Pilates, in 2016. In 2020, driven by my love for nature and a desire to align my business with my personal values, I relocated my studio to Harrisdale, Perth. This transition marked the beginning of my online teaching career, which has continued to grow over the past four years.

Before Pilates, I had a rewarding career in Marketing and Event Management, backed by a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. However, a repetitive use injury led me to discover Pilates, a natural fit due to my background as a competitive gymnast. My passion for movement reginited as I pursued my Matwork certification with Stott Pilates and later the Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method with PITC in 2017, studying under renowned mentors Katrina Edwards and Kath Banks.

Seeking a more holistic approach to movement, I ventured into Yoga, completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, Indonesia. Yoga opened new doors for me, allowing me to explore movement in a softer, more intuitive way. This practice also led me to study breathwork, mindfulness, trauma recovery, and nervous system regulation, areas I am deeply passionate about. I bring these diverse skills and experiences into my Pilates teaching, helping clients deepen their movement practice and connect more fully with their bodies.

Outside of my work, I love to travel locally or overseas to explore new cultures or places; and enjoy delicious food. My personal and professional journeys are driven by a commitment to lifelong learning and sharing the transformative power of movement with others.

“Jodie believe’s movement isn’t about how much you sweat or burn - it’s about learning to come back to yourself and respecting yourself enough to move without any other reason then to care for yourself.”
